Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using Botsensei (the “site”), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

2. What Botsensei is

Botsensei is a community-driven platform for ranking retail bots — members create tier lists, rate bots per retailer, and those ratings aggregate into a community consensus. Everything on the site reflects the subjective opinions of its members and community. It is for informational purposes only, is not professional or purchasing advice, and is not a guarantee about any product’s performance.

3. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 13 years old and able to form a binding agreement to use the site. We use Discord for sign-in, so you must also comply with Discord’s own terms. You’re responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your Discord account secure. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you create — your tier lists, votes, profile text, and links. By posting it, you grant Botsensei a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, aggregate, and share that content on and in connection with the site (for example, rolling your ratings into the community consensus and attributing them to you).

You’re responsible for what you post, and you confirm that:

• you have the right to post it;
• it doesn’t infringe anyone’s rights or break the law; and
• it isn’t misleading, abusive, or intended to manipulate rankings.

We may remove content or lists at our discretion, especially if they break these terms.

5. Acceptable use

Don’t:

• post illegal, hateful, harassing, or infringing content;
• impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation;
• spam, or manipulate votes, ratings, or the consensus (e.g. sockpuppets or bought votes);
• scrape, crawl, or use automated tools against the site without permission;
• attempt to break, overload, or bypass the site’s security or access controls;
• upload malware or attempt to compromise other users.

6. Rankings & affiliation

Botsensei is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any bot developer, retailer, or brand named on the site. Product names, logos, and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used for identification and commentary only. Rankings are community opinion and can be wrong, out of date, or disagree with your own experience.

7. Referral links

Some profiles and links on the site — particularly member (VIP) profiles — may contain referral or affiliate links, which means the person who posted them, or Botsensei, may earn a commission or credit if you click through or make a purchase. This never changes how bots are ranked, and it isn’t an endorsement of any product.

8. Third-party bots & sites

The site links to third-party bots, retailers, and other websites we don’t control. We’re not responsible for their content, products, availability, or practices, and linking to them isn’t an endorsement. Buying, running, or reselling retail bots may carry financial risk and may violate a retailer’s or platform’s terms — any decision to use them, and any consequences, are entirely your own responsibility.

9. Our intellectual property

The Botsensei name, the oni mark and logo, the site’s design, and its original text are ours and are protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, rebrand, or reuse them without permission. This doesn’t affect your ownership of content you created.

10. Disclaimers & liability

The site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. It’s beta software: features may change, break, or go away, and we don’t guarantee that rankings are accurate, complete, or that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Botsensei and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any losses arising from your use of the site, your reliance on any ranking or information, or your use of any third-party bot or retailer. Your sole remedy if you’re unhappy with the site is to stop using it.

11. Termination

You can stop using the site and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access — with or without notice — if you break these terms or if we need to for the security or integrity of the site. Sections that by their nature should survive (like content license for already-aggregated data, disclaimers, and liability limits) continue after termination.

12. Changes & contact

We may update these terms as the site evolves. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above; continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms. These terms are governed by the laws applicable where the site operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
