Botsensei is a community site for ranking retail bots. This policy explains what we collect when you sign in and use the site, why we collect it, and the control you have over it. Short version: we take Discord sign-in, store the content you create, and use one analytics tool — we don’t sell your data.
1. Who we are
Botsensei (“Botsensei”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is an independent, community-run project that publishes tier lists and rankings for retail bots. It’s currently in beta and is built and maintained by an individual operator rather than a company. “You” means anyone who visits the site or signs in to use it.
2. What we collect
We only collect what we need to run the site:
Account information (via Discord)
We use Discord as our only sign-in method. When you sign in, Discord shares — and we store — your Discord ID, username, display name, avatar image, and email address. We never see or store your Discord password.
Content you create
Anything you make on the site: your tier lists and rankings, votes, bot suggestions, and your profile — bio, display alias, profile links, and social links. We store this so we can show it to you and, where you’ve published it, to others.
Usage & analytics
We use a third-party analytics tool to understand how people use the site — page views, clicks, scrolling, and anonymized session replays and heatmaps. It masks form inputs by default.
Technical data
Like any website, our hosting provider automatically processes standard request data (such as IP address, browser and device type, and timestamps) to serve pages, keep the site secure, and diagnose problems.
3. How we use it
- Create and secure your account, and keep you signed in.
- Display your profile, tier lists, and votes, and attribute your contributions.
- Aggregate rankings into the community consensus and master tier lists.
- Review VIP requests and grant member features.
- Moderate content, prevent abuse and vote manipulation, and keep the site running.
- Understand usage so we can improve the site.
6. What’s public
Botsensei is a public, community site, so a lot of what you do here is visible to anyone: your published tier lists, your public profile, your display name (or alias), your avatar, and your bio. If you’d rather not show your Discord identity, approved members can set a privacy alias that replaces their username and hides their avatar. Don’t post anything in a public field that you wouldn’t want to be seen.
7. Retention & deletion
We keep your account and content while your account is active. You can edit or delete most of your content at any time from your dashboard. If you want your account and associated personal data deleted, contact us (see below) and we’ll remove it. Some information may persist for a limited time in backups or where we’re required to keep it.
8. Your choices
- Edit or delete your tier lists, profile, and links from your dashboard.
- Set a privacy alias (if enabled for your account) to mask your Discord identity.
- Request full account deletion by contacting us.
- Block or clear cookies, or opt out of analytics, through your browser settings.
9. Children
Botsensei isn’t directed at children. You must be at least 13 years old (and old enough to use Discord) to create an account. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we’ll delete it.
10. Security & changes
We take reasonable measures to protect your data, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security. Our providers store and process data in the United States; by using the site you understand your data may be processed there.
We may update this policy as the site changes. When we do, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above, and we’ll make a reasonable effort to flag material changes.
11. Contact
Questions, or want your data removed? Reach the site owner through their Botsensei profile and we’ll help.
